CSGO BETA Key Giveaway

Hello everyone,

Sorcerer of Quakenet are providing 5 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) BETA keys to giveaway to my Twitter followers!

This is great news, and it helps me continue to do what I want to do which is give back to the community. Even though this may seem like a small gesture, it’s still a gesture, and it’s still giving back!

So, what do you have to do for a chance to win a CS:GO Beta key?  It’s pretty simple, all you need to do is:

- Make sure you are following me on Twitter @opiedelivers and also following@Sorcerer and @Quakenet.
- Write a message saying “I want CS:GO, @opiedelivers, @Sorcerer, @Quakenet! #OpieCSGOQuakenetGiveaway
(It is important that you write the message exactly like that so the tool used to pick the winner can fetch the message correctly. If you do not write the message exactly as mentioned, you are not eligible.)

Just do those 2 simple steps, and you will be automatically eligible to win. I will then use GiveawayTool to randomly pick the winners on Wednesday, May 30th, 2012 and will announce it here on my website and on my Twitter. The winners will get a Direct Message from me with further instructions. If I do not get a reply from the winners within 48h, I will pick a new winners.

Good luck!

Hah! My Caitlyn ulti clip was used in TheButtonMasherz’s “LOL - WTF” moments. Funny stuff!

Hello everyone,

As my quest to giveaway 1 game a month to my Twitter followers begins, what better way to begin than with Diablo 3, right?

Q: But Jason, why are you giving away games?
A: Why not?
Q: But they cost you money!
A: So?
Q: But… but… but… Why?!
A: No soup for you!

Seriously, I really appreciate the followers that I have, and if I can give back in any way, I will. This is my way of thanking you. Not only will I give away at least 1 game a month, I will also give away BETA keys as they become available to me.

I was just called “the hardest working man in the streaming business”…

oceloteI was just called “the hardest working man in the streaming business” by a professional gamer who streams on own3D.tv. I don’t know if that is true or not, but what I do know is that it doesn’t feel like work when you love what you do. I do what I do and love what I do for the gamers and the viewers. I remember when I was playing “professionally” and wished there was some way I could make a living out of gaming. At the time, I couldn’t. So, I got into the business, but not as a gamer. I never regretted it, as my resume now shows the incredible opportunities I have had over these years. For over a year now, I have been working with the incredible, talented, and small own3D.tv team as one of the company’s directors to help make gamers’ dreams come true, and also help bring entertainment to gaming lovers who just love to watch professional and non-professional gamers play.

We all know how much streaming has evolved and how much it is changing the gaming industry. I am just proud to be a part of it and honored to meet and work with some of the most influential people in this industry. I have been in some way, shape, or form a professional in this industry now since I was 13 when I made my first $. In these 15 years so far, every single professional gamer and gaming professional I have met have been some of the most incredible and inspiring people I have ever met. True superstars. I can honestly say that we are all one of a kind, all unique, but all share the same passion.

It feels great to be recognized and be appreciated by the players you try hard to help, but it feels even better to watch those same players stand victorious on stage lifting up their championship trophies. Because in some way, you know you helped pave the road for them to reach that moment of glory they are living in that exact moment.

Podcast?

I’m thinking of starting a podcast. The idea would be to focus around everything gaming related, and not just the games itself. Since I work in the gaming industry, perhaps it would be interesting for some of you to not only listen to my opinions about recent gaming news and games I've played, as well as the opinions of those I decide to do the podcast with, but also my thoughts and inside knowledge about the industry from “behind the scenes”.

I’d like to do something a little different where I would also give advice to those attempting to get into the business, share my knowledge and expertise about how things work inside gaming companies and gaming service providers, and things of the source. (Without breaking any NDAs, of course!)

I’m not sure in what format exactly I’ll do this. Perhaps just simple audio (MP3, etc.) format. I will only really do this if anyone who reads my website or follows me on Twitter has any real interest in it. Be it 5 people or 50, if there is any interest at all, I’ll definitely start putting something together. I’d like to try to do this as a weekly thing, no longer than 60 minutes, and I plan on having guests ranging from professional gamers to gaming professionals.

So, what I’d like to know is… Any of you following me have any interest in this? I appreciate any feedback. Leave a comment on this post or reply via Twitter @jasonbabo.

Thank you in advance!
